Today Samuel Menyongar from Sierra Leone, Africa visited our school to give a presentation about his country and his home country Liberia. We also raised money for his village (Konde Farm) to have a well for water but he doesn’t know we are giving it to him (shhhhhhh. don’t tell him). He left Liberia because of a civil war but while he was running away his brother his brother got killed. He made it to Sierra Leone but a little while after he got there a civil war broke out there too. So he went to the United States in July and went to Omaha. He talked at schools about africa and how we could help. After he did a few presentations he wanted to go back to Sierra Leone but the Ebola epidemic had started and he couldn’t go back. So he decided to do more presentations at more schools. He came my school to give a presentation and we gave him a big check (it was a piece of paper drawn with marker but we gave the real check later) for $1,700 and he was excited. The last presentation he is doing is in another school. Then he is going back to Omaha to help donate things to Africa.
